picnic on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Mississippi
Agriculture & Forestry Museum in Jackson. It was a a fun
time for patients and their families to take a break from
dialysis schedules and come together for food, fun and
was provided by Catering by George's and music by Rocco of
Sound Design. Mistress of Ceremony was Fresenius social
worker Lee Parrott. Schwan's provided "bottomless" ice cream
and there was lots of dancing to Sister Sledge's song, "We
of Trustees of the Mississippi Kidney Foundation has
announced a generous donation, made possible from the estate
of Michael Rubenstein.
We are humbled to receive such a gracious
gift from Michael, who was a kidney transplant recipient,
and we are committed to honoring his memory in a way that
would be pleasing to him.

designed for kidney dialysis patients, kidney transplant
patients, as well as kidney patient family members and

Jackson, Meridian, Hattiesburg and McComb

will be held in April of 2015, in Columbus, Mississippi. There will be a crock pot
cooking demonstration, with kidney-friendly recipes, and each
dialysis patient there will take home a brand new crock pot!
Speakers will include nephrologists, social workers, nurses and
