The Board
of Trustees of the Mississippi Kidney Foundation has
announced a generous donation, made possible from the estate
of Michael Rubenstein.
We are humbled to receive such a gracious
gift from Michael, who was a kidney transplant recipient,
and we are committed to honoring his memory in a way that
would be pleasing to him.

Memorial Kidney Walk
With much
gratitude and appreciation, the Mississippi Kidney
Foundation has announced that the annual kidney walk will be
named the
Michael Rubenstein Memorial Kidney Walk.

Over $113,000 was
raised by patients, staff, nephrologists and supporters for
the 2011 Kidney Walk Dialysis Unit Challenge! Funds will be
used for patient emergencies. Many thanks to all of you who
made this possible! But it's
never too early to start raising funds for the 2012 walk.

Foundation Grant Renewed
The John D. Bower
Foundation has announced the renewal of a three-year grant to
the Mississippi Kidney Foundation. This marks 15 consecutive
years of grant support from the Bower Foundation.
The Mississippi
Kidney Foundation recently received a $25,000 grant from the
Walmart Foundation and the Mississippi Advisory Council. Words
cannot express how very much we appreciate this donation and how
grateful we are for their vote of confidence in what we do!
Mississippi ranks among the top in the nation for kidney
disease, and the MKF will work diligently to provide free
screenings for kidney disease throughout the state.
Over
9,000 of the 2012 Kidney Connection Calendars have been
distributed throughout the state to dialysis patients and renal
professionals. The 2013 calendar is already in the works!

live in another state, you may purchase the cookbook for
